Liberty Credit Union is merging with Plane Saver Credit Union to provide members with access to a wider range of products and services, enhanced digital banking facilities and the continued support of a strong, member-owned financial cooperative.

Plane Saver will formally assume responsibility for Liberty Credit Union on 1st July 2026. The systems integration will take place on Monday 3rd August 2026, after which members will begin accessing their accounts through Plane Saver's mobile app or online banking.

Your new member number will be sent to you in July, before the systems integration takes place. Where possible, this will be sent by email or SMS. Members without an email address may receive their details by post. On 3rd of August 2026, Liberty members' accounts will be transferred into Plane Saver's banking system. While this work is taking place, online banking services will be unavailable and our teams will not be able to access account information. This means that we may be unable to process account enquiries, balance requests, withdrawals or other account-related transactions until the migration has been completed. Normal service will resume once the transfer has been successfully completed. If you need to withdraw funds before the migration, please ensure your request is submitted by 2pm on Friday 31st of July 2026.

Yes. Please make sure your contact details, particularly your email address and mobile number, are up to date. You will receive a new Plane Saver member number by email, SMS or post before the systems integration takes place. You will need this member number to register for online banking and the Plane Saver mobile app from 4th August 2026.

Yes. Your membership will continue as normal and your account balances will transfer automatically to your Plane Saver membership. As a Plane Saver member, you will have access to a wider range of products and services.

Yes. Your savings remain safe and secure throughout the merger process and beyond. As with all Credit Unions, your eligible deposits up to £120,000 are covered by the FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme).
