First established in 1993
By a group of British Airways employees
It was their hope to build a financial community hub for their peers. Supporting one another by saving and borrowing with one shared pot.
We Created 'Plane Saver'
3 years after we launched.
As the Credit Union grew, we added more and more airlines to our list of partners. If you couldn't tell by the name, we expected to work exclusively with airlines, but what happened was a different story.
We Grew Our Common Bond
Supporting those who serve.
In 2015, we were selected by the MOD as one of three UK Credit Unions to support their personnel. We now have over 6,000 members from the Military and Veteran community.
We Merged . . . Twice!
We welcomed two more communities.
In 2023, we merged with Harlowsave Credit Union and still have a branch in Harlow. In 2025, we completed another successful merger, this time with Money Matters Community Bank.
Now we’re one of the
biggest credit unions in the UK
with over 33,000 members!

Our Social Impact
We've raised thousands for local communities.
Our volunteers have given back to our communities through the Friends of Plane Saver lottery. Since 2018, we’ve raised thousands for different meaningful causes across the UK.
