Meet Our Board
Credit Unions are run by a volunteer Board of Directors, who are responsible to represent and report to the wider membership. They are supported by our Expert Advisory Panel. The Board and Audit Committee form part of the overall management team. They contribute toward the strategic objectives of the credit union, approving policy and mitigating risk.

Joy Maitland MBE
Chair
Joy Maitland is an executive coach, business psychologist, and Director of the multi-award-winning Inemmo. In 2024, she was awarded an MBE by King Charles III for services to business and to charity, and was also made a Life Honorary Member of the Association for Business Psychology (ABP) in recognition of her contribution to the profession.
Joy empowers individuals and organisations to excel in a new era of leadership, guided by her motto, “Be the Difference. Make the Difference.” Her work reflects a commitment to creating meaningful change with lasting impact.
She is the author of From Alpha to Zen, which explores the qualities of exceptional leadership today, and she holds fellowships with the Institute of Directors, the Institute of Leadership, and the Chartered Management Institute.

Ian Atkins
Vice Chair
Ian Atkins is a cornerstone of Plane Saver Credit Union, having helped establish it over 30 years ago. As Vice Chair, he continues to guide the credit union's mission to deliver ethical, inclusive financial services that benefit all members. Ian’s dedication to the wider credit union movement is evident in his roles with the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL), where he has held influential positions.
He also serves as Assistant Treasurer at the London South-East Credit Union Forum, advocating for credit unions across the region.
Ian’s unwavering passion for positive change continue to inspire growth and community impact.

June Parsons
Chair of Nominations and Succession Committee
June’s career at British Airways encompassed a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, with involvement across finance, sales, marketing, distribution, learning and development, recruitment, engineering, and HR. This included contributing to large project teams managing major business transformation. Projects she helped to facilitate include migration of the airline’s reservation system onto a new platform, designing and facilitating leadership and management programmes, managing recruitment campaigns/on-boarding plus reporting on engineering quality systems.
Since leaving British Airways, June has focused on community work e.g. as Chair of St Cecilia Chorus, a registered charity.
June has an MBA and is a member of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners (ACGP) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD)

Dinesh Sanghvi, B.Eng. FCMA,
Chair of the Community Engagement Committee
Dinesh joined the Board of Directors in early 2019 and brings to Plane Saver a wide range of skills gained over 35 years in senior finance roles.
During his career he has held Finance Directorships in listed IT and technology companies, including a UK-listed Plc and the global business consulting company CGI Group. His business and technology experience spans major outsourcing agreements, identifying and assessing merger and acquisition opportunities, conducting due diligence and managing their integration, and leading large, diverse teams.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a qualified engineer, Dinesh combines financial rigour with technological understanding. He is known for commercial insight and a disciplined approach to financial management, helping organisations balance innovation with strong governance.

Robert Finney
Chair of Merger Committee
Robert joined the Plane Saver Board in December 2019. He is a corporate and commercial lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in banking, financial and commodity markets, governance and financial regulation.
Robert brings broad regulatory, legal and governance expertise across financial services, together with strong insight into the PRA and FCA. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute and a member of the Institute of Directors.
Beyond his legal career, Robert has a strong governance record. He was a non-executive board member and partner at a large international law firm, playing a pivotal role on its risk and audit committees. As Vice-Chair of a Multi-Academy Trust, he gave strategic oversight across growth, human resources, finance and risk committees.

Diego Cevantes-Knox
Treasurer & Chair of Finance Committee
Diego Cervantes-Knox is Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee at Plane Saver Credit Union, overseeing financial governance and supporting the organisation’s long-term resilience for members.
He is Group COO and Executive Director of Ocean International Reinsurance, a specialty reinsurer with A- ratings and operations across seven countries, serving clients in over 100 markets. In this role, he leads operations, technology, and modernisation to accelerate growth. He focuses on strategy execution, capital efficiency, and value creation through digital and insurance-linked solutions.
Previously an Equity Partner at PwC UK, Diego advised insurers, reinsurers, and private-equity portfolios globally, after senior roles at Hiscox, RSA, Ace (Chubb) and Google. He also serves on boards and committees at King’s College London and The Growth Company Business Finance.

Ruchi Gupta
Deputy Treasurer
A Plane Saver board member since July 2022, Ruchi works at Western Asset Management where she helps in credit portfolio construction. She has more than twenty years of experience in the financial industry in key roles, and has developed deep expertise in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks while interacting with senior management of companies in various sectors.
She is well versed in regulatory and compliance processes of the financial sector. Her credit and company’s strategy assessment skills will add to the financial expertise of Plane Saver’s Board.
Ruchi holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School and B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
She regularly volunteers for a charity for homeless in the UK and also supports two charities devoted to children in India.

Enva Doda
Member of Risk Committee
Enva Doda is a seasoned financial services professional with extensive expertise in risk analysis, capital management, and regulatory reporting. As Financial Risk Manager at Al Rayan Bank, she plays a key role in safeguarding resilience and compliance across a complex and fast-changing banking environment.
Enva has recently completed a PhD in Finance and Business, with her research focused on gender inequality, and she is due to graduate formally in December 2025. Deeply committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities, she champions sustainable and inclusive business practices.
Enva values continuous learning and brings academic rigour, practical insight, and a strong sense of purpose to strategic discussions, supporting Plane Saver’s mission to provide secure, responsible, and community-centred financial services with lasting positive impact.

Roger Hardman
Chair of Risk Committee
Roger Hardman has served on the Plane Saver Board since September 2016, currently chairing the Risk Committee. His diverse background spans 22 years in the Royal Air Force, charitable sector leadership, and strategic project management.
During his RAF service, Roger held chaplaincy and coaching roles. He went on to direct a survey team at the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall. He subsequently served as Head of Welfare at a major Armed Forces charity before establishing himself as a Senior IT Project Manager for high-profile clients, including the Ministry of Justice, St James Place Wealth Management, O2, Shell, and a major Lloyds insurance company.
Outside work, Roger enjoys competitive hockey, travel, and cinema.
Meet The Expert Advisory Panel

George Harrigan-Brown
George, Global Internal Audit, Risk & Controls Director and Chair of Hilton Food Group’s Risk Management Committee, is a highly experienced executive in Governance, Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance, with a strong track record in Corporate Governance Code Provision 29. His expertise includes C-Level Stakeholder Management, Risk Strategy, and Internal Audit leadership.
George is influential with executive leaders and regional teams alike, with a talent for building strong, productive relationships across all levels. As a member of Plane Saver Credit Union’s Expert Advisory Panel, he brings dedication to diversity, inclusion, and governance excellence that drives business success. Known for solutions-focused, results-oriented leadership, he delivers commitment, flexibility, and success in every role.

Maj Tony Finch REME
Major (Retd) Tony Finch began his military journey in 1976 joining the Territorial Army. After being commissioned in 2002, he served until 2024, holding various ranks and roles, including Company Commander.
Maj Finch completed service in London District as SO2 Life Skills, focusing on Whole Life Development, including financial resilience. Maj Finch is currently Head NHS Armed Forces Network. Also, partner in Building Human Resilience.
He is a First Aid for Mental Health Instructor. Over his 48-year career, roles included Unit Welfare Officer. Serving in the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Norway, the USA, Canada, Iraq, and Falklands Islands.
Maj Finch is married to Christine and have three children and five grandchildren.

Victoria Copeland
Vicky works for the Money and Pension Service as Regional Partnerships Manager for West London.
This role presents the opportunity to work with a variety of organisations including local government, financial services, charities and advice providers to support their financial well-being strategies for residents, customers, members and service users throughout West London and the UK.
Vicky brings thirty years of lived experience to the role as well as a keen interest in supporting financial well-being in a workplace setting. MaPS's strategic aims recognise that improving financial education and building financial resilience with good saving habits are key areas for development; this makes partnering with credit unions like Plane Saver a priority.

David Anderson
David has been involved with Credit Unions for over 20 years.
During this time he has been Director of Harlowsave CU where he played an active role in its merger with Plane Saver CU he has been Chair of Holdfast CU involved in its day-to-day running. He is now Chair of Norwich CU.
David's expertise in IT has helped keep Credit Unions safe online. In 2021 he published “Remote Working for Credit Unions - a Case Study”.
He has been extensively involved with local communities, in setting up school banks and Community Interest Centres.
In 2022 David joined the board of ABCUL. Since being on the ABCUL board he has expanded his knowledge of CU’s internationally working with the WCUC.
