We've Reached 35,000 Members and We Couldn't Have Done It Without You

A thank you to our community, a look back at our journey, and a look ahead to what comes next.

We have some wonderful news to share. Plane Saver Credit Union has reached 35,000 members, and we think that deserves a moment to celebrate. 

This is not just a number. It represents 35,000 people who made a choice to put their trust in a different kind of financial institution: one that is owned by its members, run for its members, and built around real lives rather than shareholder returns.

How we got here 

Plane Saver started life serving those employed by British Airways, a small but dedicated community of people who wanted a fairer, friendlier way to save and borrow. Over the years, we have grown steadily, always staying true to the values that made us: honesty, care, and a genuine commitment to your financial wellbeing. 

More recently, our community has grown through the mergers of two organisations that share our values. We warmly welcomed the members of Money Matters Credit Union and HarlowSave Credit Union into the Plane Saver family, bringing fresh faces, shared ambitions, and a collective belief that finance works best when it works for people. And this may not be the last time we open our doors wider. We are always exploring how we can bring more people into a way of banking that genuinely puts them first.

None of this happens without the people behind it. Our team, every colleague who picks up the phone, answers a query, processes a loan, or goes the extra mile for a member, deserves enormous credit for where we are today. Their dedication is the engine of everything Plane Saver does.

We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to our members, especially those of you who have told friends, recommended us to family, or encouraged a colleague to join. Word of mouth is one of the most powerful forces behind our growth, and it happens because people genuinely value what we offer. That means more to us than any marketing campaign ever could.
